In summer 2020 I got to create this very detailed watercolor painting with more than 40 seals in it! Definitely one of those paintings that properly test my patience. The original size of this commission was A2 (59,4 x 42 cm) and the client had a few specific things she wanted included into the painting. Some examples of these are the seal with a yellow helmet, seal with the little teddy bear and a sneezing seal. She didn't want a too flashy color scheme, so we agreed I'd stick to different yellows, browns and greys mostly.
Here's the first sketch I made. The client was happy with it so it ended up being the reference for the actual painting.
Here's the same sketch after a quick digital touch. I wanted to give the client a very basic idea of the colors I'd be using for the artwork. She agreed on them and so I started working on the painting for real.
Here's the finished painting scanned, on the right the painting is hanging on its owner's wall, beautifully framed.
