Pegasus My original vision for this horse was not as blue as it came out to be. I only used blue for shading, and the first color layer of the horse was very blue to start with. However, I often learn the best when I make little “mistakes” like this. They work as steps that are needed on a journey to improvement. I’m happy with the way the final painting turned out and now, I have learned to combine different colors to deepen the shadows of my paintings in a way that brings more balance to the overall color scheme.

Is Anyone Home? The mood in this particular painting differs from all the other ones I’ve made. Usually everything I create is more or less happy and full of joy, but this one is quite gloomy. This was intentional, for I wanted this painting to raise questions in a person viewing it. That’s why even the title is a question.

The Flowers of Blue Starting on this painting, I had just gotten a new roll of watercolor paper. This paper was behaving very strangely and didn’t blend the colors the way it should’ve. Very soon I found out I had been sent wrong paper and the roll was replaced. Still, I managed to finish this owl pretty much the way I wanted.
