Monsters can be dangerous adversaries, a threat, a challenge, or a misunderstood monster. Monsters are born, monsters are made and someone can be called a monster. Monsters can be allegories, a warning, a reflection of humanity, or a mystery. In games, monsters can be plot twists, an intriguing visual element, or even a tool or weapon. Monsters can be found in a cave, under a bed, in a boss fight, or in the mirror.
