New T-shirt Designs
If you're wondering why there's been silent on this blog during the past few months, it's because of a little renovation it went through. However, the wait is over now and I can present you the work-in-progress material of my two recently finished t-shirt designs!
"Foliage Fox"
The first design was a fox (surprise!). The orange-red fur of a fox is easy to associate with autumn colors and this is not the first time I'm creating a fox whose fur is mingling with autumn leaves. The first time I did this in my adult coloring book (the book is available on Wonder SHOP). In the coloring book, the fox is a simple lineart drawing (you can see it here on my Instagram) and for a long time, I've wanted to get a chance to see how the similar idea would look as a watercolor painting. I think that a round shape works very well with t-shirts and so I came up with the idea of this little branch growing out of the fox's tail. Then I made the fox hold the branch in her mouth and added the one single flower at the end of the branch, to close the circle.
"Wolf Moon"
For the past two years, I've repeatedly been asked if I'm ever going to create a wolf design for my t-shirts. Now it's been done. I wanted to have a round shape with this design as well. At first, the crescent was supposed to have a realistic surface of the moon without any flowers there at all. Something about this idea kept bothering me though, and so I decided to change it. I sketched the wolf laying on a crescent-shaped frame and then added the flowers to grow all around it. I immediately felt this was the right thing to do and proceeded with this idea. I always found the idea of painting flowers extremely boring, until I came to find out that they go together with animals really nicely. But I'd still not make paintings with only flowers in them, unless it's commissioned.
Lastly, take a look at the simple pictures I took at the very first set of t-shirts I ordered! These shirts will be available in the events I attend from now on, but you can also find them on Wonder SHOP. The shirts are 100% cotton and unisex fit. I'm very happy how they turned out! The shirts are comfortable, and the prints durable and washable. On top of that, the very first event (and so far the only one) I sold these t-shirts at (Desucon 2019), proved to me that I'm not the only one who likes them. For the first time that I can remember, my "Firefoxes" t-shirt (see the design on my Instagram) was not the most popular one, not even the second most popular. These two new designs were the center of attention and I couldn't have been happier!
